Tinkers Cottage is now available for family and friends of the Pearson family to use for a nominal fee of £250 a week to cover the cost of cleaning, laundry and utilities. Short breaks are also available for the same fee of £250.
The award winning beach at Bigbury-on-Sea is less than 2 miles from Tinkers Cottage. There is a large car park at Bigbury-on-Sea, as well as the Venus Cafe, a beach shop and Discovery Surf for paddle board, kayak and surf hire.
Tinkers Cottage is dog friendly and dogs are allowed on the sandy beach at Bigbury-on-Sea.
Tinkers Cottage is located in Bigbury village, South Devon (an area of outstanding beauty) between Plymouth to the west and Salcombe to the east. Only a short walk away in St Annes Chapel is the village shop, which sells all your basic essentials and The Pickwick Inn, a restaurant and bar. The cottage is less than 2 miles away from the award winning sandy beach at Bigbury Bay with it's captivating Burgh Island.
Dogs are very welcome at Tinkers Cottage, at no extra charge and are allowed on the award winning sandy beach at Bigbury-on-Sea. Restrictions on where dogs are allowed on the beach apply at certain times of the year.
The modern, well equipped kitchen has a double electric oven with four-ring hob, microwave, kettle, washing machine with drier, dishwasher and a full size fridge-freezer.
The lounge/diner has two comfortable sofas and a TV with a Pure radio and docking station. The dining table seats 6 people comfortably. There is a selection of books & DVDs to help keep you entertained. The cottage also has a landline telephone and broadband internet connection paid for through an honesty box.
The upstairs accommodation consists of a modern bathroom and two comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom has a 5' double bed, while the twin-bedded room with distant sea views has two extra pull-out beds on wheels. The cottage sleeps 4 people comfortably.
The bathroom has a power shower over the bath, as well as a toilet and wash basin. Bath towels are provided for your holiday, but please bring your own beach towels.
There is a landline telephone at Tinkers Cottage, as mobile reception can be poor in this part of Devon, but is improving slowly. Wifi is available at the cottage, but can be slow compared to big cities, but again is improving. There is an honesty box for any calls you may make.
A travel cot is available, but you will need to bring linen for the cot. A large basket of toys and games can be found on the landing.
Outside the front of the cottage is a small pebble & grass garden with a raised patio area. During the summer months garden furniture is left out and a BBQ is available upon request.
The property has a communal paddock for energetic ball games and a reserved parking space. With additional visitor parking.
Several good walks start from the public foot path across the road from the cottage.
Please note that Tinkers Cottage is a strictly 'no smoking' cottage.
